Circle of Life

The Circle has always been a sacred shape, for many reasons – it is the Sun, the Moon – the journey they take through the seasons; the great cycle of life & the universe.

[su_pullquote align=”right”]Everything an Indian does is in a circle, and that is because the power of the world always works in circles, and everything tries to be round. In the old days when we were a strong and happy people, all our power came to us from the sacred hoop of the nation, and so long as the hoop was unbroken the people flourished. ~Nicholas Black Elk (Hehaka Sapa) Wichasha Wakan & Heyoka, Oglala Lakota[/su_pullquote]In that spirit, all drums are made; symbolic of that cycle – and a way to carry our voice to the Creator.

Dan makes these drums himself, and they are skinned with Elk hide! A bit heavier than what you might be used to, but a deep resonant sound like no other. The frames are also in a style representative of cycles…the 13 moons, honouring our Grandmothers, Mothers & Sisters & Wives.

Available in 12″, 16″ & 18″ sizes.

Come see them at the shop, once you hear the beautiful tone, you’ll want one for yourself (or a very special gift for the Drum Carrier in your family)! These are in limited supply, so be sure to visit soon!
